My corner
Posted by Pepper on July 23, 2013
It was a rainy morning today, just like what most mornings are these days. I sat with my mug of coffee in my favourite corner. As I put my mug down, it dawned upon me how beautiful the moment was. It was drizzling. The sky was overcast. I had a hot mug of coffee, and here I was, in my favourite space.
Pardon me for the poor quality of the picture. It was a dark morning, and the picture was taken from my cell phone camera.
This expanse faces our bed and is my favourite part of the house. We have a similar seating arrangement in all the rooms, but for some reason, I have turned this space into my own personal nook. I often make use of the seating area, stretch my legs and read by this window. I have my cups of tea and steaming mugs of coffee here. Oh, I also share this space with my loved ones. The sister and I have long conversations here. The BFF always finds her way to this little spot of the house too. Friends sit on the sill with their beers. Hookahs are made and passed on by this window. But what brings me unparalleled joy is simply sitting here and watching the rain.

Thats a lovely corner…a bucket full of chips, a bottle of chilled water and a nice romantic book..ah! may be in my next janam that would be possible 🙂
Pepper said
Hain? Why? I don’t get it. Why is that not possible in this janam?
R's Mom said
Because I will have the brat and ask me a million questions and dip into my bucket of chips and then I will have to share na 🙂

Ah, thanks for breaking your spell. Good to meet you. Btw, your blog name sounds extraordinarily familiar to me. Trying to recollect where I’ve seen you around.. 🙂

I know Pepper, the other evening I made 2 cups of Ginger Tea, put on some slow music and we just sat by the window watching sunset and the traffic below, it was surreal..
A personal corner is must I would say 🙂
Pepper said
Wow. I am sure it was surreal. Moments like these that make everything so worthwhile, no? 🙂

Hehe.. I suppose such invasion is inevitable once you have kids 🙂

Wow…It looks beautiful. It is spaces like these that turn into our favourite spots with time. I can so imagine you having long conversations with the sister, BFF and Mint. I have a fetish for finding spaces for me too. I have always had a my space in all my the places I have ever lived. And this kind of style by the window is one of my favourites and in the list of the dream house I am going to have one day.

Ok, so my comment got eaten up!
I can totally imagine myself snuggled up here with a book and comforter on cool evenings, or watching something on the laptop when not in the mood to read.. No wonder you like this place so much!
Pepper said
Thassright. I generally avoid taking the laptop to this little space, but on some evenings/nights, would be good to sit back and browse by the window.

woww pepper,
i just love your corner…can i have it for awhile??
why dont you decorate it with a cute customized mattress and pleasant stickers or traditional wall hangings??
Pepper said
Yes, I can share my corner with you.
We did think of putting a mattress there, but changed our mind, since it is so close to the window, and will get wet/damp even with a drizzle. Maybe atfer the rains?
Other stuff like wall hangings, I am not so sure. Don’t want to nail too much stuff here since it is a rented place. We’ve already done enough of that in the living room.

Ah that charming nook! And to think you have a similar space in every room 🙂 Congrats on the move Pepper – commenting late. Wishing you lots of fun setting it all up which btw is usually a WIP forever! 😛

Yes, we have a similar space built in every room. Nice, isn’t it? 🙂 And thank you.
